Speech Language Pathologist Assistant – SLPA
The Children’s Center for Neurodevelopmental Studies in downtown Glendale is looking for a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join our team. We are a small non-profit private school that serves children with Autism and other Developmental Delays and diagnoses. The role will treat children with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders under the supervision of a certified Speech Language Pathologist. You will be working in a variety of settings (i.e., private school program, clinic, etc.). We have a morning School Program as well as an After-School Program which we run under the DDD (Division of Development and Disabilities) guidelines. We are looking for a person who would do part time work, Monday – Friday, 20 to 25 hours per week. Our school is expanding and we need your assistance. Duties include: Administering therapy and following treatment plans for speech disorders, assisting in implementing standardized tests for accurate diagnosis of communication disorders, working with teachers, parents and districts on therapies to support IEPs, assist in establishing treatment milestones for students, documenting and storing treatment plans and progress reports, researching related speech and language problems, providing therapies, etc.
Requirements: Must have an Associates Degree or higher and be Arizona State licensed. Must have a current fingerprint clearance card, must pass a background clearance check, CPR/First Aid card, Arizona State Driver’s license, able to pass a drug test, have three written letters of reference, and be willing to get training on “Article 9” and “Prevention and Support” (we can assist training).
