We are looking for teaching assistants and/or education Paraprofessionals to assist in our classrooms. We are looking for candidates that have worked with special needs children before. The ideal candidate will be motivated and physically capable (can lift over 50 lbs. and be able to move comfortably) in order to work with high behavioral individuals. Special needs experience is preferred. Must love children and have patience. The hours are Monday through Friday from 8:45am to 2:00pm. $11.00 p/h
Duties include: Providing instructional support services under the direct supervision of a qualified Special Education teacher. Assisting teachers in planning and preparing materials for activities. Implementing therapeutic programs under the direction of therapists. Implementing Positive Behavior Support Plans. Assisting students with meals, personal care issues, hygiene, social interactions and behaviors.
Requirements: Must have a High School diploma or GED, must be 18 years of age, must have a current fingerprint clearance card, must pass a background clearance check, CPR/First Aid card, Arizona State Driver’s license, able to pass a drug test, have three written letters of reference, be willing to get training on “Article 9” and “Prevention and Support” (we can assist training).
