The Children's Center for Neurodevelopmental Studies, in historic downtown Glendale, is looking for a DTA Provider, Caregiver or Behavioral Trained Paraprofessional to assist in our DTA (Day Treatment for Adults) program. We are an award-winning private school that serves individuals with Autism and other developmental disabilities. We have an Adult Program for graduates of our Autistic school, and we are looking for you. We are looking for candidates who have worked with behavioral special needs individuals (between the ages of 18 -30). The ideal candidate will be motivated and physically capable (can lift over 45 lbs. and be able to move comfortably) in order to work with high behavioral individuals. Special needs experience is preferred. Must love special needs individuals and have patience. Our current need is from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Pay starts at $12.25 p/h and can increase based on experience. This position is considered full time and includes Medical, Dental, Vision and Life insurance, as well as holidays and PTO time. College students are welcome to apply. Positions are available for both guys and girls.
Duties include: Working on daily life skills, some vocation and community outing events. Overseeing and providing direct support services for 1 to 2 individuals at a time. Assisting in planning and preparing activities, processes and materials for individuals with moderate to severe behavioral related issues. Assist in crisis intervention as needed. Maintaining program documentation, implementation, safety and cleanliness. Assisting individuals with meals, personal care issues, hygiene, social interactions and behaviors. The Adult Day Training Provider will also record patient behaviors and provide a safe and supportive environment for the students. Must be approved to drive a van safely for field trips and other activities.
Requirements: Must have a High School diploma or GED, Associates Degree preferred. Must be 18 years of age, must have a current Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card, must pass a background clearance check, CPR/First Aid card, Arizona State Driver’s license, able to pass a drug test, have three written letters of reference, be willing to get training on “Article 9” and “Prevention and Support” (we can assist training). Will need a current 39-month motor vehicle record (MVR) with no accidents (this is obtained from www.servicearizona.com which is the site for ADOT)
